Five Things

Five Things You Might Not Know About Me

1. My most hated meal is scallops thermidor. My Mom was a great cook, but although everbody else seemed to love this meal - BLECCCH!!!

2. I've been an Avon Lady for 4 years.

3. I was diagnosed with scoliosis when I was 8. (I had the S curve.)

4. I read both Newsweek AND The Enquirer.

5. I once worked for Artistic Greetings in Binghamton, NY doing data entry typing in addresses. Did you order address labels in 1994? I might have typed in in for ya. It was horrible by the way.

  1. My SIL got diagnosed with scoliosis as a teen... I didn't know her then, but hubz said she had to wear her back brace and everything...

I imagine school must've been difficult...?

  3. Yes, I had to wear a back brace that went from my chin to below my hips. Luckily for me I was only 8 when this happened to me, so this was before I had any interest in boys (or my appearance for that matter). It was actually very unusual to develop it that young, but it was a blessing. I think having to go through that as a teen would've been much, much harder. I was very, very fortunate in that my classmates accepted me and never made fun of me, everyone was very understanding and as major as it seems, it wasn't really that traumatic for me. This was back in the days when people didn't have to be politically correct and kids still called each other "retard" so it's pretty amazing I didn't suffer any tormenting!

I read each and every comment, and though I don't always get a chance to respond, I enjoy reading (and pondering) what you have to say. Thanks for your 2 cents! :-)
