GAH and New Church and my Secret Ingredient

And, we've been going to a "new" church which is actually a church plant from our "regular" church. Today we weren't able to meet in our usual place, so instead we sort of had a meeting at someone's house to talk about how things are going, find out our thoughts, and see if people were ready to commit to some things that we want to do... It was really exciting and I felt really positive in the direction that things are going, and my confidence in the leadership is increasing. Our last experience in a small church, where we became very involved, ended somewhat badly and really soured us. But I'm feeling good about this.

Some of my family peeps including DH are out golfing and later we're all meeting at my DB and DSIL's house for BBQ. I'm making doctored up baked beans in the crockpot and oatmeal raisin cookies (with substitutions that make them choloesterol free for DH and Dad!). Though the oatmeal raisin cookies are from a mix, I did add my secret ingredient, which I will reveal to you, my faithful blog readers - nutmeg. I believe it is the nutmeg that won me 2nd prize in the Dutchess County Fair years ago for my oatmeal cookies. It just adds a warm, homey taste - I don't know how else to describe it. They're just coming out of the oven now. I'm going to try one to, you know, make sure they're not poisonous or anything - don't want to accidentally kill any of my peeps, so I should, you know, test one...
