So we called my Dad last night (who is always a good sport no matter what wacky thing we ask him to do, though lucky for him this was very low on the wacky scale) and asked if he could give us a hand getting my new washer up stairs and into place. Got it all hooked up without too much trouble and gave it a test run. Works GREAT! And it's surprisingly very quiet too! I was also impressed with how much clothes will fit in it - it's big! Dare I say it was worth the wait? Anyway, if you're in the market for a new washing machine, I highly recommend this one: GE WJRE5500G[WW]. Thanks to Consumer Reports for the recommendation. But be warned - mine took nearly a month to get!
Besides the 200 loads of laundry I have ahead of me, I am in the process of painting. The first color that was too orange I used to paint one of our downstairs bathrooms, and it looks actually very nice in there. It doesn't seem too orange in there at all. Went back to Home Depot to take another stab at a color for our kitchen/livingroom and came home with Glidden's "Dapper Tan". Tested it on the wall and we have a winner!
Dapper Tan reminds me of Dapper Dan - do you remember that doll from the 70s? It was a boy doll and he had clothing and shoes with laces and zippers and buttons and it was for little kids to practice using the different clothing fasteners? My brother had Dapper Dan. I just looked on Ebay and he's not too expensive - there's a completed auction for a Dapper Dan still in original box that went for only $9.99! I also discovered they make a "new" Dapper Dan, but there's nothing like the original!

I read each and every comment, and though I don't always get a chance to respond, I enjoy reading (and pondering) what you have to say. Thanks for your 2 cents! :-)
