How To Make a Heatwave a Little More Bearable

Quote from DH: "Having a keg is fun!"

So we didn't turn on the A/C until 10:15pm last night!! Ok, we kinda cheated though... We stuck it out through the afternoon, but at 4:15 we left to go over my Dad's to hang out and watch the Belmont Stakes, so we got to spend the remainder of the afternoon and most of the evening in glorious A/C. Got home about 10:10 and looked at the temp on the thermostat - it was 86F (inside). So I promptly went about the business of flippin' the switches on the thermostat to "cool". I heard it click on, then I anxiously went over to a vent to feel if it was cool... And yes! It worked just fine, woot, woot! So we got a decent night's sleep in coolness. We do have it on today - we have it set to 80 though (we usually set it between 78-80). That sounds like it's not very cool, but it's really not bad at all, and what makes a huge difference is that the A/C dries out the air so it's not humid in here anymore. My Dad had his on 68 when we were there (I think)? Which was a little cool for me... I wonder though what other people typically set theirs to?

Well 80 is certainly better than Monday's forecast high: 95F
And Tuesday's forecast high: 96F

By the way, DD is eating chicken legs right now and "Q-ee alert" is set to "high".

The end.

I read each and every comment, and though I don't always get a chance to respond, I enjoy reading (and pondering) what you have to say. Thanks for your 2 cents! :-)
