New Feature: "When We Were First Married..."

When we were first married... I didn't know how to cook a lick. My mother-in-law and her friend were coming up to visit us in our tiny apartment in Binghamton, NY (we lived there for 2 years so DH could attend SUNY Binghamton) and of course I wanted to cook a nice meal. I decided to make scalloped potatoes. So I bought a box of Betty Crocker scalloped potatoes mix and I got some potatoes and peeled and cut them up. Imagine my surprise when I opened the box of scalloped potato mix to discover that...it comes with potatoes! Dried potatoes, what do you know!

Who would have thought?!?

(Incidentally I see in the photo above it says on the box "100% Real Potatoes". I'm going to assume that 14 years ago when I bought some it didn't say that so prominently...)

I read each and every comment, and though I don't always get a chance to respond, I enjoy reading (and pondering) what you have to say. Thanks for your 2 cents! :-)
