A week ago or so, DH and DD were getting the wood rings ready that are on the front porch for the colder weather by tidying up and refilling the stacks of wood and kindling. DD also cleaned off some of the chairs on the porch and found that a couple of the branches from our bushes had reached over and entwined themselves around part of the chair. And thus, yesterday's
Wordless Wednesday photo.
Here's the other entwined branch:
Here's a wide shot where you can see the bush reaching out to the chair:
I'm not exactly sure why the shrub wants the chair, but we gently de-tangled the branch and here's what it looked like (those are DD's little hands wearing her Spongebob Squarepants gardening gloves, so cute!):
It seems like the plants in the back of our house are trying to snag our table, maybe to go with the chair....?
I don't recall our landscaping ever offering us
moving services...?
P.S.A.:
This is what happens when you don't prune your shrubs often enough.
They become overgrown, unsightly and then
try to steal your outdoor furniture!
Don't let it happen to you!
I've got some sort of weird, weed-ish vine that totally took over all the landscaping on the east side of my house, including the 12-foot crepe myrtles. It took me 2 days, a shovel, an electric trimmer, and 4 lawn/leaf bags to get that sucker out of there.
ReplyDeleteI guess I should to pay more attention to the east side of my house.
Great pics - don't let them get away.
ReplyDeleteLOL, that's kind of scary!
ReplyDeleterotfl!
ReplyDeletelol - wow is right!
ReplyDeletehey - drop by when you get a chance? I've got a tag for ya :)
I've never seen such a thing! Funny that it crawled such a distance. Wow.
ReplyDeleteTrim the ones in the front down by no more than 1/3- not only are they trying to eat your front porch furniture, but they're ruining your view from the porch! They're obviously happy with the growing conditions you've provided, too bad they aren't just a tad less exhuberent!
ReplyDeleteCarol: Wow! Now THAT'S a determined weed!!
ReplyDeleteHalloween Doll Clothes Gal: We reclaimed our furniture. Btw, I checked out the costumes on your site, they're really cute!
Lux: Yeah, I thought it was kinda scary too...and kinda sneaky!
Dette: Hi Dette! Thanks, I'll go check out the tag right now. :-)
Kathy: I know, it's weird - like it was reaching out to grab the chair on purpose. What's up with that?!? :-O
Binders: Yeah, I know, the shrubs are doing so well that now it's a problem! Heh! I've been nagging DH to prune them, but he always says, "I have to check and see if I'm supposed to prune them in the spring or in the fall." And then he forgets and never prunes them. >:-(
