Don't leave the bag of cat food where the cat can get to it.
Luckily, I got to it in time. I was sitting downstairs and I heard little noises. The kind of little noises that tell you, "someone is up to no good". So I raced upstairs and there was Q-ee (who as you may remember is quite the little bugger from My Cat is a Cat Jerk post) working on his little "project".
This cat is a pip. He's the kind of cat that KNOWS he's in your way, but doesn't move. Go away!
He's not even afraid of the dog. The dog is afraid of him though. If Q-ee sits in the doorway, Tex won't go by him. But does Q-ee care if the dog is in the doorway? No way man!
I'm not afraid of you!
We adopted him from a nearby city shelter about 3 years ago now. Apparently he was picked up as a stray "walking the city streets". We'll never know what went on in his early years to make him into the cat he is today, but we love him. He keeps our lives interesting, that's for sure.
Here's one last parting shot of the Q-man - I don't what was going on in his cat mind that he decided to sit right there, but that's the kind of cat he is.
Anybody have a good caption for this photo?

Great story - we love cats (and have 2 of our own - neither of which ever miss food time).
ReplyDeleteCaption: :Fill with milk, fill with milk...."
This will put some hair on your chest.
ReplyDeleteYou know I have left our cat food to find it 'slashed' open by our brood more than once! You'd think I learn... but no. :) Cute Kitty!
ReplyDeletePossible photo caption"I double dog dare you to recycle my empties."
ReplyDeleteI always empty my pet food into those large potato chip cans, the decorative kind.
ReplyDelete"Honest I didn't drink it as you can see my eyes aren't crossed."
My cat shredded the middle of a bag of food recently, so now we've taken to keeping the cat food in an old plastic jug from his litter. We keep the jug of food near his dish and the leftovers in the bag far from his usual haunts. And the jug is easy to pour directly into the dish.
ReplyDeleteIs it a coincidence that the hard lemonade bottle matches your tractor? Must be a nice refresher after an hour on that mower!
ReplyDeleteDoll Clothes Gal: I LOVED your "caption", I LOL! I have a post for tomorrow that I think you will like, btw...
ReplyDeleteKrissy: Is that how he got so fluffy?? I thought I noticed some empty bottles behind the couch...
Liberty: I know, me too - I've only had cats for 14 years, you'd think I'd know by now not to leave the cat food bag out. Duh.
Condo Blues: I wouldn't take a double dog dare from Q-ee cat, he's a baaaaad kitty! :-)
Jude: That's a cute idea, then the kitties think they're getting chips! Heh...
Rachel: I like the jug idea, I'll have to see if I can find something suitable around here. Right now I use a "tupperware" container with a scoop.
Mark: Oh yeah baby! Nothing like a "refresher" after mowing the lawn! :-P
I took a closer look at the catfood bag, because it looked so familiar when I first saw it, and sure enough, it is exactly the same brand and formula we feed our cats...it's much less expensive than the vet's prescription formula, and works just as well. Minnie used to get constant UTI's, and hasn't had a single one since we switched to Purina One Urinary Tract Health...maybe I should ask them to pay me for a blog...LOL. I use a Rubbermaid container and a scoop, myself, but have been delinquent in transferring the food quickly enough to stop the kitties from attacking the bag. :)

ReplyDeleteWhat cat food should I pair with this refreshing "lemonade" ... LOL!

Krissy: Ahh, very perceptive. Q-ee had a bladder infection and the dreaded "crystals" and so that is why we too use this food. This cat food also worked wonders for my kitty and he seems fine and dandy now. I'm thankful too there was something cheaper to solve his problem than the prescription food that costs a small fortune. Esp after the vet bills!
ReplyDeleteDenise: HA! I can see him thinking, "Would that go better with "Beef and Liver" or "Flaked Tuna", hmm....
