I believe this is the infamous burger pizzas (or something like that) with tater tots (MUST be served with tater tots, I believe) from the school lunch menu? You should have provided a link to your post about them. :) Although, it's a good test of memory! Obviously, mine's not that good because I can't remember what they're called! Since I only have three weeks left before giving birth, my poor husband has been getting a lot of frozen dinners lately. They're highly un-economical and un-healthy, but hey, it's a hot meal. :) I'm waiting for my nesting instinct to kick in and provide me with oodles of energy...hasn't happened yet. :) At least I'm not trapped in the hospital and can go where I please...the couch, bed.....LOL
I could swear you'd written about these before...I remember seeing a picture and the description of the meal and "recipe"... But I searched your blog and couldn't find a matching post. :( Where did I read about them them???
Sushi: Thanks for the invite - I did stop over for the party!
Krissy: You have the most amazing memory! I searched my blog also and didn't find anything, so I must have just told you about them...and yes! It is the famous "Pizza Roll" from school lunch in elementary school. It's hamburger buns with a slice of American cheese melted on top and a spoonful of spaghetti sauce on top. And yes, it MUST be served with tater tots. It is the ultimate pairing! (This is actually a great way to use up hamburger buns and it's very economical to make!)
kmommy and gallicissa: Yes, it is SUPER yummy. Don't forget to salt the tater tots a little too.
tjhirst: Nope, not ketchup. That would be a LOT of ketchup to eat. It's tomato sauce.
Jude: Yes, you can vicariously enjoy my elementary school lunch while I dream about your deep fried onion rings! :-)
Shannon: It looks really fattening but it's really not THAT unhealthy. It's 3 buns, 3 slices of cheese, some tomato sauce and baked tater tots. I've eaten worse. :-P
nilz: I'm glad it looks as appetizing as it tastes, I'm not normally that great of a photographer! ;-)
John: And I suppose I nay be needin' all these comments either, huh? ;-)
Mmm, that does look pretty good! I could go one of those right now, lol. I'm in Australia and haven't seen them before. I was going to say that I don't think we have an "official" name for tatter tots here, but then realised that they'd be potato gems
I read each and every comment, and though I don't always get a chance to respond, I enjoy reading (and pondering) what you have to say. Thanks for your 2 cents! :-)
After that, save room for some dessert. Please stop by for some B-day cake later :)
ReplyDeleteHappy WW!
Hey, we had tater tots recently too! Love 'em.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the rest of the meal? Don't recognize it.
