Ok, I know we go some wacky and interesting places, but even for us, this was quite remarkable. Just for fun I'll give a prize to the first person who can guess where we went by midnight tonight - don't worry, I'll give you some hints. If you're a blogger or have a website I'll give the winner a free 125X125 ad spot for the month of November or a link on my blogroll for the month (must be family friendly link or ad). If you don't have a website, then I'll just tout your name and give you full bragging rights, fame and glory.
You must be specific and include the town in your guess.
Here are a few hints:
This place is in the Adirondacks.
This is an extremely unique place.
Yesterday was the first time the public could visit this place.
It had a geiger counter used as decor.
Any ideas?
The end.
Atlas Missile Silo, aka Lewis Missile Base
ReplyDeleteLewis, Essex County
Adirondacks
?????
Is it Lake George? I love that place.
ReplyDeleteWeeellll.. since you are over in the "east," my guess is the Atlas Missile Silo in Lewis, Essex County, NY.
ReplyDeleteOh nuts. I just noticed that someone already got it ahead of me. !!! LOL, that's what I get for waiting til evening to drop cards.
I don't know where Adirondacks is but using a geiger counter sounds like a nuclear site or factory to me :D
ReplyDeleteI have no clue. But can I just say, I love the Adirondacks? My XDH's family used to have a house on First Lake near Old Forge - I just loved it there.
ReplyDeleteGeez, how is it everyone knows about the Essex County missile silo but me?
ReplyDeleteIt took me awhile to find it...finally found a local paper with the story.
