HA HA! Bratz (aka Tramp Dolls) To Be Taken Off the Shelves After Christmas!

Good Riddance Bratz Dolls!

(Sorry, gotta interrupt my string of posts about our holiday weekend for this (scroll down for today's post in that saga).  Also, sorry about that Kmart banner on the bottom, that'll be gone tomorrow, too intrusive - it's not how I thought it would appear.)

Number One:  I can't believe people actually thought it was a good idea to market these tramp dolls to YOUNG GIRLS.

Number Two:  AND PEOPLE ACTUALLY BOUGHT THEM FOR THEIR DAUGHTERS, GRANDDAUGHTERS AND NIECES!!!!

Not that Barbie is a shining example either but she looks like an innocent schoolmarm next to Bratz.

Maybe MGA Entertainment Inc. (maker of Tramp, I mean Bratz dolls) can explain away the dolls' disappearence with a story about how Yasmine, Chloe, Sasha and Jade were caught by undercover cop Ken doll (he works for Mattel), who posed as a John and they're all now in jail on prostitution and drug charges.

Anybody out there willing to admit they bought these for their kids?  Can you tell me why you thought it was ok to give them such a trashy, trampy looking doll for them to play with?  This I would love to hear!

The end.

  1. Hi Carole, I can't seem to drop on your widget today, i don't know if it has anything to do with the K Mart ad thingie at the bottom of the screen...??

    Anyway, sorry I couldn't drop!

  2. Hi Lidian - thanks for the comment. Nah, Entrecard was having some problems today, it was probably just having an outage when you tried to drop. I just checked it and I am getting drops today from others, so I don't think I can blame Kmart, but THANKS for letting me know, 'cause I definitely want to know if anyone is having trouble.

  3. Actually I see you may have to scroll just a little to be able to click on the "drop". Nice. Sorry people! :-(

  4. Carole...From a dollmaker that caters to young children (as well as adults!) they're appalling!! I'm glad it's not just me! Horrible. And we wonder what's wrong with today's youth??! Great post!

  5. I've got the story for MGA -- the Bratz dolls have chosen to limit their public appearances due to being traumatized after an embarrassing and degrading run in with the Roman Polanski doll.

    Yeah.

    I said it...

  6. I was forced by Mattel to buy a Bratz doll, against my will. I wanted to buy one of those Barbie heads a number of years ago, for the daughter of a friend of mine...the one where you can style the hair and put on makeup. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any anywhere. The only doll head I could find was a Bratz, and it was okay for doing hair and makeup...at least I stopped while I was a head... LOL
However, I am not sad to see them go...just as I was not sad to see the Spice Girls go. Talk about inapporpriate marketing to children...

  7. OMG! I thought I was alone in thinking those dolls were UGLY. I've hated those things since day one and I know I won't miss seeing them.

  8. I would never buy one of those things for my daughters, even if they did like them. It looks as if MGA may be in deep waters if this judgment is upheld. Could Mattel maybe buy them out?

  9. Good riddance, indeed! I was just saying to Country Wife how offensive I find those things.

  10. I haven't been this happy in a long time LOL! I have hated those ho wannabes since they hit the market.

  11. I can't stand them. My older daughter had gotten a few as gifts through the years and, I have to admit, I sneaked down in the middle of the night and threw them out. I don't usually do that, but I just couldn't stand them. Luckily, my older daughter now believes that trashy is bad and will comment when she sees trashy clothes or dolls.

  12. Good riddance! My niece asked for one for Christmas and I said, No." She asked why. I said, "Because I don't want you to grow up and be a brat. Those dolls are evil." And she sulked away.

  13. Carole, I couldn't agree more! Those dolls are a menace to young girls. My former daughter-in-law bought them for her four year old daughter. Oh,... did I mention she is a "former" daughter-in-law? hee hee.....

  15. I think they are trashy and am glad my daughter is 2- however.. I may buy one on clearance since this looks like the last run of them and store it new in the box to help pay for my retirement. Of course lots of people may be thinking the same thing! LOL SO long dirtay dolls...

  16. I was oh so glad my daughter really never got into dolls so the Tramp dolls never were anything to her. I would have not allowed them in this house. And I refused to buy them for anyone as gifts either. Good riddance is right!

I read each and every comment, and though I don't always get a chance to respond, I enjoy reading (and pondering) what you have to say. Thanks for your 2 cents! :-)
