First of all, I'm not going to bother to try to create any suspense today, I'm just gonna blurt it out - I had a 3lb. loss when I got on the scale - WOO HOO! I've lost 13lbs. so far, and this is a great place to be because that's enough to make my jeans feel really loose, so at least for having to control what I'm eating, I'm now finally enjoying the pay off of my hard work. No more "muffin top" is nice, ya know? :-P I do have a bit of a tough weekend ahead though - the awesome "fish fry" at one of our local firehouses starts this Friday and it is NOT to be missed. Also DH requested corned beef and cabbage which I'm making over the weekend and well, THAT can't be good for a diet, can it? Haven't even looked at the package yet to assess the damage it's going to do. Well, I'll do my best. That's all I can do, right?
Secondly, I want to apologize for not posting yesterday - I wasn't planning to leave that post up about asking for opinions on posting frequency for three days, but I was still getting comments and I was so interested to hear what people thought, that I decided to let it "simmer", as Kathy from the Junk Drawer calls it. Anyway, THANK YOU to all of you who left a comment - I really appreciated hearing your thoughts. Previously I had only been reading what the "experts" thought about posting frequency and I'm glad I asked my own readers what they thought! Much more enlightening.
I liked the advice many of you gave about how it's my blog and I should just post when I want to, but don't post out of an obligation just to have a post up. So after thinking it over, and taking into consideration what everyone had to say, I think I WILL just post as I feel like it. It probably will end up being almost every day. I'm almost embarassed to tell you I rarely run out of things to talk about.
And for those of you that find it hard to keep up with that much posting, well, if you miss some posts, trust me - there's nothing so earth shattering happening here that it's gonna matter if you miss it. And on occasion when something "big" happens, I know I usually refer to it in later posts, so presumably you'll catch on. I empathize though, because I myself read a LOT of blogs, and truthfully, if everyone posted every day or nearly every day I'd be overwhelmed too - I'm actually thankful that most people seem to post 2-3 times a week also. So, I totally understand that you can't be here every day, waiting on my every word. :-D
I also forgot to mention that I have noticed since I have been posting less my Alexa score seems to have gone down the toilet.
And btw, DH's back finally felt better enough to investigate the dishwasher and he thinks he has discovered the problem. Luckily and surprisingly it a smallish plastic piece which I would THINK would not be expensive to replace, but I'll keep you posted on that one. Have I mentioned before GE appliances stink?
So now I'm off to meet a friend for lunch today at Applebee's which has Weight Watcher lunches, so that will be easy, thankfully. On my way there I have to pick up some home plan books my DH snagged off of Freecycle. I have to watch him though. I am all for "free is good", but only if it's something we need. If I start finding 8 track players, yoga mats, Mac memory or stacks of old issues of Popular Mechanics around here, we'll have to have a talk... :-D
The end.
Yahoo Carole,... that's an excellent thing to read... 13 pounds gone! Way to GO!

ReplyDeleteGood lookin' out on the weight loss! Congrats! 13 pounds is substantial! I think most of us slow down with blogging in the Winter. Seems there's just less to post about. I think your thoughts on this are dead on - post when you want and need to. Otherwise, just be happy!
