We Visited Our Property in the Adirondacks Yesterday!

 Our property in the winter!

DD had the day off from school yesterday so we drove up to the Adirondacks and met with a builder we had been talking to.  We also took the opportunity to drive up to our property to see what it looks like in winter.  To be honest, we didn't know if we'd even be able to get to it - we were unsure if the road would be plowed, but much to our pleasant surprise, it was plowed, although I was glad we brought the truck - it was plowed but terribly icy and slippery despite using 4 wheel drive.

In winter you get a teeny bit of a lake view through the trees from our property

(I forgot to get like, the last hundred pics off the camera before the trip, and I kept fearfully waiting for that "card full" message to pop up on me, here of all places, but I made it without having to go through and delete some pics, whew, I hate when that happens! I need to buy memory for it.)

A shot of the famous Sagamore resort from across the water from a place we stopped to look at the lake.

For all the years and years we have been going up to the Adirondacks, we've never gone in the winter, so it was a real treat to see the area in a different season.  Of course we had to also stop in Lake George Village and take some pictures there too - check it out!

Yes those are vehicles and people on ATVs on the frozen lake.

The End.

  1. Nice spot in the trees. How big a place are you going to build,... for year round living? Exciting!

  2. Cars on the lake? I heard that just a couple weeks ago a bunch of cars fell through the ice into Lake George. I guess some people are just too stupid to learn from others mistakes. Must be that 'it won't happen to me' attitude.

  3. it's beautiful! My DB was looking at vacation property in the Adirondacks, since the rest of the family is back east (and we're in Oklahoma), but nobody was too excited, so he's looking in New Mexico instead!

  6. Aw, makes me homesick. I'm glad the Adirondack people are just as nutty as the MN people with their weird things they do on lakes.

  11. Your property is just beautiful. How fun to watch it develop, and dream of its future...and all the memories you will make there!

Be sure to start a cabin journal. We love to look back in our cabin journal, and we make it a rule that all who visit there must write in it! LOL.

I read each and every comment, and though I don't always get a chance to respond, I enjoy reading (and pondering) what you have to say. Thanks for your 2 cents! :-)
