Well, in the previous comments Storybeader was wondering how I siphon the water out of the dishwasher, and since I don't want anyone laying awake at night worrying over the draining problem with my crappy GE dishwasher, I figured I'd show you my latest problem solver.
DH was kind enough to show me how to operate the siphon (the thing with the blue squeezy thing) - you just put the straight end in the water, the other in the empty kitty litter bucket and give a few good squeezes on the blue part and voila! The water siphons itself into the bucket. Except about a half an inch on water won't go. That's where the turkey baster comes in - to finish up the job. (Attention Family Members: I promise not to use this turkey baster for this year's Thanksgiving dinner!)
(Ok, I must also give credit to DH for helping me with this idea - originally I was using just the turkey baster and an empty Cool Whip tub. Yeah, I know. He definitely improved on that set up!)
I got to thinking that I believe this is my third ingenious problem solver. Remember back in the summer I had "the stick", which enabled me to prime the mower so I could get it started on the first try?
And at Thanksgiving time I had devised the "Thrifter" to clear out cobwebs (a Swiffer cloth on a yardstick).
Now if only I could invent something for painless weight loss!!! Weight Watchers, Decaslim, Slim Fast, etc. - look out! Heh!
The end.

What an inventor you are :o) When you come up with painless weight loss, please let me know. I need to shed some poundage pain-less-ly ;o)
ReplyDeletei have a new GE washer and dryer, ( it was what i could afford) and I am learning you "get what you pay for".... I don't expect them to last very long. The dryer maybe, the washer, no way!
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is "Where there's a will there's always a way."
ReplyDeleteYou are like the McGuyver of Home Improvements! Hooray!
ReplyDeleteGood for you with the siphon rig! I've never picked one of those up, and I always have to start the suction by sticking a hose in whatever I want siphoned, sucking on the hose, and getting a mouthful of whatever it is. LOL
ReplyDeleteI had been thinking the very same thing, that you have some very nifty inventions!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, your floor looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou are awesome!!
ReplyDeleteI was hoping you didn't use your mouth on the end of a hose! lol Never seen one of those things before! Oh, and if you come up with a weight loss solution, please let us know. Sitting in front of the computer, us bloggers need a break!
ReplyDeleteWe're all waiting anxiously as to what your NEXT invention will be!
