I gotta tell ya, not only do I enjoy getting comments because they give me a warm, fuzzy, happy feeling inside BUT I like to get to know YOU people too!
For those that are regular commenters, I start to look forward to seeing your name, and I start to get to know you from the thoughts that you leave for me.
And here's a little secret - if you're a fellow blogger, I try very hard to at least visit everyone who leaves a comment - usually I do try to comment back as well. I discover lots of wonderful new blogs this way! I also will often bookmark you or add you to my "Entrecard Favorites".
You guys are kind enough to listen to me and all my opinions, - your comments back are my opportunity to meet you! So know that I really appreciate and enjoy your thoughts and opinions, and although I can't pay you back in gift cards, diamond rings, or winning Publisher's Clearinghouse entries, I will get to know you / come visit you if you give me the chance! :-)

I do the same with my commenters as well. I feel like I actually know my regulars. It does surprise me though at what posts get more comments. Some I think will get a lot of comments usually don't and those I think won't, end up getting more. Sometimes I am right in predicting but not usually.
