Lately this one has been my fave. 'Cause it's "Adirondack-y". Makes me think happy thoughts of our little place up there, waiting for us... I actually got these cups at the Warrensburg Garage Sale a few years back (where they sell everything on earth from fake Coach purses to hundred year old discount door hardware - you can read about our trip from last year here). It is a set of four teacups each with a matching sandwich plate, very charming. I don't think they're worth anything at all, but I love them.
One of the few things I got when my grandma died were her dishes and this is one of the cups from the set. Isn't it pretty and somewhat unusual? I don't use the cups very often, they're very fragile, but I occasionally use them for special occasions. It's by Johnson Bros.
Do you have a favorite mug or teacup?
The end.
I love tea! Both hot and cold.
ReplyDeleteI have several mugs I love maybe I'll post them just for you sometime this week, have a great one.
ReplyDeleteCute/lovely and vintage-y!!! I do have some favorites. A Winnie the Pooh coffee mug is my favorite along with one with my mom's name and meaning on it.
ReplyDeleteI have a favorite cup that has my name in it ... from Las Vegas, with cartoons of Sig & Roy and the white tigers. LOL I used to have a silly favorite holiday mug that had pics of animals and said, 'We Fish Ewe a Mare Egrets Moose.'
ReplyDeleteI love your happy cups, Carole! They're so cute. :)
ReplyDeleteI have a set of 6 mugs that I favor. Two are red, two are green and two are ivory colored. All have the same leaf design on them. I think they're my favorites because of their color and because they remind me of fall...my favorite season. :)
My favorite mug is one that we got on vacation a few years ago. It is a nice solid 'manly' mug and holds at least 50% more coffee than most regular mugs. It's from the Strasburg RR museum in PA and sort of looks like one of those old black and white 'tin' mugs.
ReplyDeleteHappy cups for sure! Very nice! My fave is a pottery mug that my older son gave me for Christmas many years ago. It now has a small chip, but somehow coffee always tastes better in that mug.
ReplyDeletecute cup - mmooo!
ReplyDeleteI love the cup from your grandmother with the design on the inside. It seems so meant for a proper tea.
ReplyDeleteMugs make me happy too! I have many favorites...and some I just HAVE to have at certain times. One says "In the midst of winter, I have found there to be in me, an invinscible summer" and I use that one when I need to be reminded that summer is coming..though winter is long.
ReplyDeleteYour grandma's set is beautiful. I have a thing for cups/bowls etc with anything inside. I love cups with pictures at the bottom, or writing around the inside...just love 'em.
I don't drink coffee or tea but my mom always liked coffee in the morning so I bought her a huge cup that said "MOM" on it and she used it all the time. It was like double the size of a regular cup. It made me feel good that she used it every day.
ReplyDeleteI didn't get a chance to tell you congratulations on your weight loss!!!!! I know you think you're going slowly, but you're doing really awesome.
ReplyDeleteI love your cups, by the way, and seeing Grandma's cup always brings back good memories of family celebrations.
Carole, my favorite cup came from Barnes and Noble a few years back. It has a picture of writer James Michener on it. B&N sold cups with other authors on them too. They don't carry them anymore. I haven't been able to find any used ones either. I know someone else out there has to drink from a B&N authors cup too. I can't be the only one, can I?
ReplyDeleteMooski! That was funny :o)
ReplyDeleteMy fave is the second one. I love that it has designs inside as well. I used to have a kid's set with cup, plate and soup bowl and could not wait to finish my drink or food to "discover" what was inside or on the bottom.
I love coffee cups and mugs and teacups with saucers. My favorite mug is part of my blog's header over at Coffee Break. Thanks for the post! It got me thinking about some of my favorite coffee and tea cups.
