Thursday Weigh-In

Good morning everybody!

Short and sweet today - I had no change this week, but I'm ok with that.  No need (today at least) for another "McDonalds breakdown" or thoughts of running to the drugstore to clear the shelf of weight loss pills.  :-D  The most I've ever lost on Weight Watchers is only 11lbs away from where I currently am, and as everyone knows, those last ten pounds are a $!%#@!.  I feel thinner though, despite the scale.

I looked at my Weight Watchers account (I do it online) and I see the three month deal I signed up for expires on 4/9 and I have to cancel before then or else they'll start charging me the montly fee.  Or, of course, I could continue on.  Right now I'm thinking I'll cancel and TRY to manage my weight myself.  Which could be

I guess I'll have to be thinking about what to do...

Despite the 6 inches of snow on the ground and this morning's temp of 16, my thoughts can't help but keep turning toward warmer weather.  In fact we're having HOT DOGS and FRENCH FRIES for dinner!  Don't laugh but I am SO looking forward to it!  'Course they won't be on the grill, but, it'll still be fun to have a "summer meal".  I had to stand there in the grocery store and read all the hotdog packages to find the "best" one (ha ha).  No really, DH has to be on a heart healthy diet and would you believe I found name brand hot dogs with the American Heart Association symbol on them??  Me neither!!  I'm sure they're still full of nitrates and rat hairs and all that, but at least they aren't full of cholesterol.  :-D   And I'll make Ore Ida frozen french fries, which surprisingly are not that unhealthy and they taste really good - especially the "Fast Food Fries" style.  We like them with salt AND pepper.  Probably gonna have to wash all that down with a beer too. It's ok - I have light beer in the house. :-D

The sun is shining and the sky is bright blue here today - I hope wherever you are it's a sunny, cheerful day too!

The end.

  1. Carole, you CAN do it on your own and use that $$ saved to buy yourself a treat for each pound or five pounds lost. Although I'm not doing well myself right now it does work ok for me if I count calories and keep a small notebook every day. And increase activity just a little everyday to go with the calorie count. Take your ideal weight number and multiply by 12 calories,... (to lose) or 15 calories (to maintain) and stick to that number. I calculate on a week because I'm under some days and over some days. Good luck. I'm going to take my own advice starting TODAY!

  4. Actually I have had pretty good luck with all of those new Lean Cuisine meals.

The sandwiches Panini(sp) ones are delicious.

I eat them all the time when my hubby is away.

  7. My first weigh in is tomorrow. I'm nervous! But, since you're so close and those last ten pounds are so hard, this week was a victory for you! Congrats!

  8. Just an idea but what about trying a free on-line dieting site? I use www.Sparkpeople.com and it is totally free and I love it. It has food tracking and fitness tracking in addition to all kinds of message boards, teams, and such for support.

  9. Congrats, and I mean that! Some days/weeks I too maintain, rather than losing. And thats great too. And some days, I surprise myself and I've lost without even realizing it.

  10. Like I always say, you're beautiful no matter what. Do whatever you think is best for your HEALTH. If it's hard for you to maintain the weight you want (you say you have to re-lose it every year), maybe you should stay on the WW plan since it works for you...lose what you want and then use it for maintenance (when you get down to your ideal weight and stay there for six weeks, you become a lifetime member and it's free so long as you stay within 2 pounds of your weight). I need to go to the meetings because I really need all the support I can get, and it is extremely helpful to talk to other people who are in the same boat, or who were in the same boat and have succeeded. It truly is up to you, and whether you feel it is an investment in your health. If you truly think that you won't put the weight back on, then fine. If you think you might, them it might be better to stay to try not to yo-yo because it's better for your health not to. :)

  14. Instead of thinking about clearing the diet pills shelf try thinking about choosing one best product that you can find. There are clinically proven weight loss pills with no known negative side effects that you can find online. Just make sure to make the pills an addition to a healthy lifestyle.

  15. Sometime ago there was an article which spoke about the need to switch-off the T.V whilst eating .After some thought I realized that switching off negative thoughts is more important.I guess it's got to do with stress and the effects which are at times harmful because of the toxins that are produced.Hypniosis and NLP are definately helpful to combat and reduce stress. There is nothing to lose by trying to calm down and reduce stress if you are trying to shed weight.Dieting&exercise are no doubt primary prerequisites for weight-loss.
Furthermore the connection between depression ,euphoria and overeating is an established fact.Euphoria is equally dangerous as compared stress when on a weight-loss resolution. So, if your trying 'scale-off' it helps to be organized which reduces stress.
Gain confidence and your sure to lose weight Up to me alli diet pill are the best way to loss weight.

I read each and every comment, and though I don't always get a chance to respond, I enjoy reading (and pondering) what you have to say. Thanks for your 2 cents! :-)
