Signs of Spring

Took Mr. Texdog out for a walk and lo and behold, I noticed there are real signs of spring around here.  (I was actually taking some "video" of our silly dog running around - we got a new micro sd card and now we have plenty of room to take pics AND short "video".)

Here are my flowers, getting ready to bloom.  They were dug up from DH's grandfather's house originally after he died, and they've thrived.

Here's a shot that shows how they are planted all around the rocks in our side yard.  Hopefully I'll think to take a pic when they are in bloom - they are like my mini field of flowers.

We even grilled hamburgers for dinner tonight.  It was still way too chilly to eat outside, but it was nice to enjoy the beginning of the change of seasons.

Look! Little tiny purple flowers, what a happy sight!

Is it spring yet where you are?

The end.

  1. Spring is peeking out around here right now too- even though we had some snowflakes this afternoon.

Please post the daffodiles in bloom- I'm sure it will be stunning.

Oh- and the little purple flowers appear to be Creeping Veronica (in case you wondered).

  2. Why thank you for identifying those flowers - they are absolutely adorable and I did not know what they were. I didn't plant them, they just grow wild at the edge of my garden, but they're pretty and the deer don't eat them, so they stay. :-) Thanks!

  3. It's so *green*. We had to come home from San Diego, where it felt like summer. And it *is* Spring here in MN, but it is still very brown (and a nearby town is burning)...Your pup is *cute*.

  4. It's always fun seeing the flowers return in the spring. I look forward to planting our annuals in our yard again. Another sign of spring is that the tennis nets have been put back up at the court where we play. Now if the weather would just get warmer, we'd be all set!

  5. At last I've found some green shoots coming up. As I'm in the woods here and my long flower box is on the shady side of the house it seems to take longer. I like the idea of plannting around the rocks...

  6. Slowly, but surely :o) My daffodils are blooming, but the grass is not quite green yet & trees are only budding - no leaves yet.

  7. Oh, I love seeing all the green in your pictures, Carole!
It's still pretty brown around here, and there is still a bit of snow on the ground. It is getting warmer during the day though...which gives me hope that soon I'll be enjoying some "green" here too. :)

  8. Well, we have buds here in the city, but our up-North neighbors tell me it's *just* getting to be the very beginning of Spring there. By the time we're up in May, it'll be full blast. Pretty rocks!! I have a thing for rocks in landscaping. Gonna save all of our foundation rocks to build a retaining wall. =)

  10. Beautiful to see Spring all around. I was walking home and actually saw some purple crocuses at the highway side garden nook... it was so pretty to see. I don't have a garden as I live up on the 3rd floor of an apartment so I look around for signs of Spring everywhere else.

    Hugs♥

  11. The first of my daffodils just bloomed this weekend. Tulips are coming in a few short days. Magnolia tree is in full bloom as well. I LOVE this time of year (especially now that I own my own home)!

I read each and every comment, and though I don't always get a chance to respond, I enjoy reading (and pondering) what you have to say. Thanks for your 2 cents! :-)
