I am Worn out from Solving Problems

Last week was a tough week as you may have noticed by my sparse posting.  Seemed like there were a hundred fires to be put out, seemed like every time I turned around there was another problem I had to figure out how to solve.  It ran the gamut from DD having strep (and she's not a very good patient) to navigating a tension filled family event planning process to an elusive spider that is making random appearances upstairs that is terrorizing DD (it's a big fat black creepy one that I'm kinda squeamish over too).  Now I am sitting here praying the phone doesn't ring from the school - DD stubbornly decided not to cooperate this morning and had no breakfast despite my repeated attempts.  So then, not surprisingly, her stomach hurt.  Likely from hunger pains.  Well, she is not going to miss school because she decided not to eat breakfast and now has hunger pains.  So I drove her to school and basically told on her to the nurse and her teacher who both agreed to DD's chagrin that she should have had breakfast and suggested she try to make it through until lunch, which is early, luckily.  So I left her there and hopefully she'll survive.  Please, please phone, don't ring!!

I'm just stressed out and worn out from all the problems and the drama, you know what I mean?  I could use a glass of wine, but it's too early for that.

The end.

  2. Oh, Carole! How awful to have all those problems arise in the same week. It's no wonder you feel stressed!
I agree with Cedar. Find some time for you - to sit back, put your feet up, and relax...if only for a few minutes. I hope it helps, and I sincerely hope this week will be a better one for you!

  5. I know what you mean, sometimes it just seems like one problem after another. Fortunately, so far we haven't had any insurmountable ones or earth shattering ones. When the problems start coming in bunches, I read through my list of things I'm thankful or that I like about my life and it does help me keep things in perspective.

  6. It's funny - I'm reading all my bloggers tonight and everyone seems to be stressed out. And spring is here and it seems being outside is the only thing that relaxes any of them.

  8. My kids had some terrible virus one after the other. While hubby was out of town & not bothering to be in contact with us at all.

After ten days of it, I wanted to stand on my roof and shout, "I DON'T WANT TO BE THE MOMMY ANYMORE!!!!"

I keep trying to remind myself: these days grow us into the remarkable women of strength & courage that we will be. And they also prepare us to be joyful upon finding our nest empty & all our little chickies flying successfully on their own.

  10. Dear Carole, It was wonderful to see all of you on Sat. DD was the perfect child. I heard you are taking good care of DF. Started to feel sick yesterday, felt worse today but feel a little better tonight. Love, AM

  11. Yep, those are the kinds of days that make me long for the ability to crawl back in bed and throw the covers over my head. Hope all is well today!

I read each and every comment, and though I don't always get a chance to respond, I enjoy reading (and pondering) what you have to say. Thanks for your 2 cents! :-)
