Our Trip to Our Property in the Adirondacks

Just a quick post for now - I'm pretty pooped from our weekend.  So here is how our property and "our" lake looked at 9:25 Saturday morning.  It was so nice to be back again.  At 9:30 we met with our builder on our lot and went over what needs to be done / timeframes / pricing and he also answered a bunch of our questions.  Yeah, I did say "pricing".  Gulp!  I think looking at life insurance quotes online is less stressful! :-P  Just kidding.

As you can see the weather was quite overcast and it actually rained for a bit.  The mosquitoes were hovering around us in swarms but thank GOODNESS DH remembered the bug spray.  It kept them from biting quite effectively, but I had to keep waving my hands in front of my face just because they were so annoying.  "Mosquito" and "Black Fly" season should be over soon though.  By about noontime the weather cleared and it ended up being quite a nice day.

We had a chance to stroll around town a bit a buy a few "sourvenirs" with the name of our town on it.  Hokey, I know, but it was very exciting.  DD had some allowance to spend.  Here is what she chose to spend some of it on:

Note that it's "self inflating".  Wow, whoopee cushions sure have gone hi-tech, huh? Can you guess what we listened to during our car trip home?

More soon about our trip....

The end.

  1. When I was a kid and saw Whoopie cushions advertised in the back of comic books, I always thought they actually said the word "whoopie" when you sat on them. Couldn't figure out why that would be cool.

3 posts back: Get new spark plugs for all your mowers first thing every spring. Replace air filters if you can not clean and reuse them. Much easier starting.

    Am I first?

  3. Black flies leave around July 4rh,.. mosquitos are around most of the summer, but then the "noseeums" or "all-jaws" start later in summer.... no rest for the vacationer! It will be exciting to see your progress on cabin. I notice many chairs stacked on the beach,.. is this in a development area? Keep showing us pictures and have fun with it.

  5. That property is so beautiful! I can't wait to see what you guys end up building. I can already imagine peaceful summer mornings looking out over that lake from the deck. Sigh.

I read each and every comment, and though I don't always get a chance to respond, I enjoy reading (and pondering) what you have to say. Thanks for your 2 cents! :-)
