Our Anniversary Dinner

As you can see I did not practice any restraint or use any appetite suppressants for our anniversary dinner at the Adirondack Brewery in Lake George!  It was bad but it was gooooooooooood!  DH and I shared the fries and we both got the buffalo chicken sandwich.  Took two beers to wash all that down, you see. :-)

After lunch we walked around the village.  We specifically stopped at Molly Malone's to check out their celtic wedding bands (in case you're not a usual reader, it was recently our 15th wedding anniversary and I was thinking of getting a ring to commemorate the occasion).  I had been looking at the Shanore company's rings and they actually had the one at the shop that I had in mind.  However, I was very disappointed.  Usually jewelry looks even nicer in person than it looks in photos, but in this case it was the opposite.  The ring was much smaller and less substantial than I was expecting based on the picture I had seen online and the price, and the knotwork was not very clearly defined or easy to see.  Just my opinion.  In the meantime I have gone to some local jewelers and I did manage to find two celtic rings I felt were the quality I was looking for, but both were over $1,000 dollars and I'm not going to take advantage of DH's generosity.

I did come up with another idea of a special gift that I am considering - I was thinking of getting a Pandora bracelet (or necklace).  If you're not familiar with them, it's a bracelet or necklace you can customize by purchasing any one of a number of beads to put on it.  In fact on their website is a bracelet builder which is a lot of fun to play with - you can try it here - it's fun.  (Plus it's doesn't cost anything if you just make it virtually! :-)  I could get a nice start on it for my anniversary, and then the nice part is it can be added to over the years for other special occasions.  Still mulling this over.

So, I still have no special keepsake anniversary gift yet, but maybe Pandora is the way to go.  Or I'm open to suggestions if any of you have any brilliant ideas.  There must be some of you who have reached milestones in your relationships - what did you get for a special gift?

The end.

  1. Well, we kind of agreed not to get each other anniversary gifts, cause it's hard enough just paying the bills! We usually just have a nice dinner out. I like the pandora concept, though. And the food here looks wonderful.

  2. In my 30+ years of marriage I can't remember ever doing anniversary gifts. I also wanted a wide wedding band on our 10th, but husband nixed that. My first one was very thin. I believe in that time it had cost about $20. We usually just went out for "michigans." The idea of the bracelet is really appealing to me. If you can afford it go for it! Adding to it over time is a great idea.

  3. Pandora sounds really good. I'm going over to check it out right now.
P.S. If you really like the ring, I think your hubby will get it for you no matter what the price is :o)

  4. Happy Anniversary! I am so sorry, but those chili cheese fries look absolutely unappealing to me. Thank God there is still something on this Earth I might not eat. LOL The buffalo chicken sandwich looks delicious though.
I love the idea of Pandora's, and when I went to a mall yesterday, they were announcing that a Pandora's was opening there, and I was so happy that I knew what that was!!!! LOL
I agree, that so long as DH doesn't say "Ye nay be needin' tha'", go for the ring...AND the bracelet! LOL Or get one now, and one for the 20th...cause you'll need something then too...maybe save the ring for the 20th. The End.

I read each and every comment, and though I don't always get a chance to respond, I enjoy reading (and pondering) what you have to say. Thanks for your 2 cents! :-)
