Something I Learned From My Dad About Beer

My Dad always had to fight for room in the fridge to put a few bottles of beer.  My Dad taught me that most men don't ask for much, but they do like to have some cold beer at the ready.  So I vowed when I got married, my man would not have to fight for a beer spot.  In fact, at our house, DH gets the top shelf in the fridge for his beverages and he also gets the top shelf in the freezer for frosty glasses.

The shelf was particularly well stocked because of Father's Day.  We had Father's Day here with my father and my brother, SIL and niece. The weather was not great, but it mostly only drizzled on and off which did not stop us from playing some games outside (bocce, horseshoes and croquet).  It was kind of a bummer not to be able to use our outdoor furniture (too wet) and had to eat in the dining room, but at least DH was able to BBQ.  He really had that grill workin' - he made chicken legs marinated in Spieide sauce (it's a Binghamton/central NY thing), buffalo chicken wings, corn on the cob, hot dogs, hamburgers and shrimp.  It was a really nice day and I really enjoyed the company.

Anyone do anything interesting for Father's Day?

The end.

  4. Sounds like a great Sunday to me ;o)
My hubby has his top shelf reserved as well. It's usually just one kind of beer at time though. Either Miller Lite or Labbat's...

  5. Oh, I love it!

Here hubby gets room in the fridge door, but our freezer top shelf looks just like yours!

Except that hubby only likes the frost mugs with handles and our top shelf isn't quite tall enough, so they are all laid over and some are in the top freezer door shelf, too.

  6. Bill likes the frosted mugs too and they have their place in the freezer also, but he gets the bottom drawer in the fridge and it's always Miller Lite cans.

  7. Well, I called my Dad and I hoed in the garden all day, LOL. How's your Adk plans going? Meant to say - I can't get a pic of the whole property arrangement (old house still in the way), but I AM doing a drawing so you can see where everything is in relation to everything else. Great suggestion!

  10. That's so funny! Just 10 minutes ago I kicked dh's box of beer out of the fridge so I could put the left over halibut in there. Then I come here and read your post! What a good wifey you are. I better go back and replace the box (I left a few cold ones in there, though)

I read each and every comment, and though I don't always get a chance to respond, I enjoy reading (and pondering) what you have to say. Thanks for your 2 cents! :-)
