Carole, Could you put a little butter on that toast please?
Heh! Actually, no, I can't! :-D I did Weight Watchers earlier this year and something got used to was NOT buttering my toast - I flavor the toast with runny egg instead and save all the butter calories. :-P I have to try to maintain my "girlish figure" somehow. :-D
That looks EXACTLY like a breakfast my dad would have eaten just about every morning!
Delicious! Do you ever cut out the center of our toast to dip into the eggs? We call them "Dippy Eggs." Just take a glass with a small mouth and press it down over the bread and take the center out. Then put the bread in a fry pan and put an egg in the center when it's good and hot. Flip it once, then plate it. You can break the egg with the circle of bread you cut out. So good!!!
Gack! That doesn't look good to me, but I did notice your lovely plate! :) Is that Blue Ridge pottery? Sure looks like it, but hard to tell with all that runny egg on top. Hee hee.
Kathy, you know, when I was a kid my Dad used to make us eggs in the toast - he called it, "Holey Toast". I forgot all about that. I'll have to try to make it next time! Good idea!Glitzen, nah, the plate is just a dollar store plate a friend gave us cookies on. It is a pretty plate though. It's amazing what can be found at the dollar store, isn't it??
I read each and every comment, and though I don't always get a chance to respond, I enjoy reading (and pondering) what you have to say. Thanks for your 2 cents! :-)
