We just got the first set of plans for our "cabin" to look over. It was cool to see the elevations and how it will look from the outside. Luckily it doesn't look stupid. :-) Overall the plans were pretty good - just had to change the bathrooms a little (the architect changed them around a bit but we like the way we had them originally - nothing complicated or fancy, no walk in tubs or anything) and also add back in a spot we planned for the dog. Yes, we are actually designing a "nook" for our dog's bed. Well, wouldn't you?? :-D It's either that or he'll sleep right in the doorway where we'll trip over him.
Now we have to decide what type of roof we want, and what type of siding. We are leaning toward a metal roof - possibly a "standing seam" metal roof, and maybe fake log vinyl siding (how cool is that??).
Any ideas or thoughts on budget-friendly, low maintenance, Adirondack-weather-resistant roofing/siding welcomed!
The end.
An exciting time for you and yours,.... enjoy!
