The Roof is On!

Ok, this is going waaaaaaaay too smoothly so far.  This is the first time I've used a Wilton gingerbread kit - maybe Wilton stuff really is that much better.  Hmm.  All I knew was NOT to get the one we used last year which was the worst of the kits I've ever used.  You can read about the "fun" I had with that one here.

Figured I'd better get the roof on the gingerbread house before I got into the whole krumkake endeavor.  One of my nieces slept over last night, so her and my daughter are supposedly going to decorate the gingerbread house later, which is why I had to get it ready now, so it will be sturdy and dry for decorating.  I remember the first time DD and I planned to make a gingerbread house from a kit - I didn't realize you have to start hours in advance to build the structure and let it dry, whoops.  That was disappointing, but now I know.  We've made these for quite a number of years now.  Maybe it's not the Wilton kit, maybe I'm just getting better at this.

Nah, it's probably the Wilton kit.  :-D

The end for now.  Will update later.

P.S. My husband just said the icing looks like Elmer's glue.  Well no wonder it's going together so well!  Ha ha...

  2. For the life of me, I can't remember, but I'm pretty sure it was a grocery store - probably was Stop & Shop or Hannaford. I know AC Moore & Hobby Lobby sell Wilton stuff, but I'm pretty sure I didn't get it there. Hope you can find it - it's the best one of all the kits I've ever used!

I read each and every comment, and though I don't always get a chance to respond, I enjoy reading (and pondering) what you have to say. Thanks for your 2 cents! :-)
