Well I do. You see, my DH loves to have an egg, bacon and cheese breakfast sandwich on a hard roll on Thanksgiving morning, and Christmas morning. I really don't make it any other time of year because DH is supposed to eat "heart healthy". So since I only make it twice a year, I always forget the order in which he likes it made. So one year I drew a diagram so I wouldn't have to keep asking.
I keep it in my cookbook. My "cookbook" being a three ring binder with plastic sleeves that hold treasured recipes from family and friends. My mom made it for me. At my bridal shower she asked everyone to bring one of their favorite recipes, which she put into this book for me, plus she added in her numerous tried and true recipes (she was renown for being a great cook). It's quite a treasury.
One of my favorite "recipes" is from an aunt that has since passed away - it's a recipe called, "How to Preserve a Husband". I keep that one right in front of my book. :-D
The end.
Wow.. What IS the recipe to preserve a husband? Care to share? :D Very neat recipe "book" :)
ReplyDeleteI love your diagram for DH's breakfast. :)
ReplyDeleteMy family likes me to make Bacon, Egg & Cheese pull-aparts for Thanksgiving & Christmas morning. You just stir everything together in a pan and bake. It's easy and no assembly required. :)
I'd like to 'preserve' my husband. Maybe have him stuffed and mounted. Ha ha. Just kidding.
ReplyDeleteThe diagram is hysterical! Omg...lololol
ReplyDelete@Angel The "recipe" I have in my cookbook is from my late Aunt Lottie, who dear as she was, was a bit forgetful, so the "recipe" she gave me actually leaves out the first few lines, but here is the correct "recipe" for you:
ReplyDelete"Be careful in your selection. Do not choose too young. When selected, give your entire thoughts to preparation for domestic use. Some wives insist upon keeping them in a pickle, others are constantly getting them into hot water. This may make them sour, hard, and sometimes bitter. Even poor varieties may be made sweet, warm, and tender and with kisses, wrap them in a mantle of charity. Keep warm with a steady fire of domestic devotion and serve with peaches and cream. Thus prepared they will keep for years."
@Vixen OMG You totally made me LOL!!!!!
That is such a neat thing to have...when the time comes when my kids get married (hopefully a LONG time from now), I have to remember that. And I love that you had to draw a sandwich diagram!
