Photos From Our Last Trip to Our Adirondack Place

Firstly, we made it through hurricane Irene just fine.  We never even lost power for more than a few minutes at a time.  I think we have like, one big branch that fell on our walkway, and that's about it.  I hope our Adirondack cabin fared as well...speaking of that, I'm going to wrap up telling you about our last trip to the Adirondacks by sharing with you some miscellaneous pictures...

We finished the 3,000 piece puzzle!

The ducks that come to our beach are very tame and are always looking for something to eat.  One of them bit one of our neighbor's toes!

Sand meatballs!

In case you've ever wondered what I look like, my daughter drew this picture of me, ha ha...

Our daughter collected all these little snail shells.  They all seemed to be empty.

I hesitate to tell you this because I am so embarrassed, but, in all the years we have been coming to the Adirondacks, we had never been to Oscar's in Warrensburg!  So we finally went to Oscar's Smokehouse upon the recommendation of about 3,000 people.  We bought some smoked cheese, beef jerky and bacon.  We didn't actually have the bacon yet (it's in the freezer waiting for us next time we go up), but we are looking forward to it as we hear it's one of their specialties.  We also heard that the Champagne Cheese Spread was very good (from one of our neighbors).  If anyone else has any other suggestions of things to try, we might stop in again next time we're up at our cabin....

This was where the camera "broke".  We were geocaching at this picturesque little spot and I decided to take a picture.  After I snapped this one, the camera "froze" (we have a Canon Powershot - just a simple point and shoot - not anything fancy like a Canon Rebel or EX-H20G digital camera...).  I tried pressing the power button, and I tried taking the battery out for a few minutes, but the camera was unresponsive.  I thought it might be a goner, but later on I took the battery out and left it out for a few hours, and when I put it back in, the camera worked again.  I guess it needed to "reset" or something.  That little camera is like a Timex watch - takes a licking but keeps on ticking!

The husband caught a pickerel.

Our daughter and three of her new friends kayaking on the lake.

Evening on the lake...

Angel apparently wanted to ride home in the Husband's duffle bag rather than the cat carrier, I guess.

Good times, good times....

The end.

I read each and every comment, and though I don't always get a chance to respond, I enjoy reading (and pondering) what you have to say. Thanks for your 2 cents! :-)
